Successful Autumn Belt Grading 7th October 2018

CONGRATULATIONS to all the martial arts students from the Beccles and Bungay Taekwondo clubs who passed their Autumn Belt Grading.

The examination was held at Bungay High School on 7th October 2018

GTUK Regional examiner Mr Steve King 6th Dan from Wellingborough was very pleased with the standards displayed by the students on the day, he congratulated them on their work and commitment to their training, and they were rewarded with an excellent 100% pass rate!

The 3 hour examination includes demonstrations of techniques including kicks, punches, blocks, patterns (sequences of moves), sparring, self-defence, power destruction and Korean terminology for the techniques in their individual belt grade syllabuses.

The clubs are run independently but both are affiliated to the same Taekwon-do association the GTUK, and teach the original ITF style of Taekwondo. The clubs are very family orientated, with many parents training with their children. The youngest students are 5 years old and there is no upper age limit.

The Beccles club is run by its fully certified Black belt instructors: Mr and Mrs Bedingfield, who are well supported by their team of Black belt and Black-tag students. Classes are held on Mondays and Thursdays 7-8.30pm at the Venue, Beccles Sports Centre.

The Bungay club is run by Mr Clinton Gillett 5th Degree, who is supported by his Black belt and Black-tag students, classes are held on Tuesdays 7-8pm and Thursdays 7-8.30pm at Bungay High School, with a special class for school students on Wednesdays 4-5pm.
