Grand Master Oldham and the Tournament Committee are honoured to invite and welcome you to our GTUK 2016 Championships. We are working hard to ensure that our tournaments are a memorable and enjoyable experience for both competitors and their families, bringing together members of the GTUK, young and old from all of our regions of the UK. GM Oldham and the Tournament Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your competitor(s) for the continued support at the GTUK championships.
The individual’s competition is open to students of all ages and levels of Taekwon-Do, giving each and every student the opportunity to take part in competitive patterns, sparring and where age appropriate destruction. All students are placed into categories according to their age and belts to give everyone a fair chance to compete to become GTUK National Champions.
The venue has free parking and there will also be stands to purchase GTUK merchandise, photographs and refreshments on the day if desired. There will also be an After Champs Party at Sports Connexion, Ryton at 7:30pm with a fancy dress “olympic” theme. There will be a bar, disco and free buffet served around 8pm; tickets are available to be reserved via your Instructor.

A Big Congratulations to all Bungay & Beccles Taekwondo Students who passed their summer Grading at Bungay High School on 26th June 2016
All students were graded on their individual belt syllabuses, which includes patterns, techniques, step sparring routines, self defence, sparring, destruction, and a test of their knowledge in both English and Korean.
GTUK Examiner Mr Steve King VI degree was very pleased with the progress of all students, and said that the standards were very high, he congratulated them on their 100% pass rate.
Young Bungay student Jed Baddour was awarded and A Pass for his Red Tag belt grading.
Beccles student Dean Harding was awarded an A Pass for his provisional Black Belt grading and has now achieved the status of Black Tag, his next grading will be in Coventry in front the GTUK’s Grand Master Oldham IX degree and Master Auciello VII degree.
The summer is a great time to start this family orientated sport, giving new members time to learn their 1st belt syllabus in readiness for the October grading, it takes 3-4 years to learn the full syllabus and become a 1st Degree Black Belt student.

Well done to Bungay Taekwondo Students who performed brilliantly at the recent
GTUK British Individual Championships
held at Ryton on Dunsmore Nr Coventry
The Bungay club entered a squad of 10 competitors across all age categories and came back with a total of 13 medals between them, with6 Gold and New British Champions!
This is a 300 mile round trip from Bungay, so this makes it even more exceptional to travel all that way and come back with such a great medal haul.
Well done to all our Bungay Taekwondo students who attended the GTUK East 1st Quarter Grading held at Bungay 20th March.

As always the examination includes demonstrations of techniques including kicks, punches and blocks, patterns (sequences of moves), sparring, self-defence, power destruction and Korean technical language.
The Bungay and Beccles clubs are both centres for the local community with many parents training with their children. So if you would like to learn one of the Worlds best martial arts, come along to a free taster session which you can find further details on the clubs websites. The youngest students in the clubs are 5 years old and there is no upper age limit.
