Child Protection Policy

Does the GTUK operate a Child Protection Policy?

With a significant percentage of its membership under the age of 16, the GTUK takes the issue of child protection very seriously.

Without exception, all of its instructors MUST have satisfied the regulatory procedures set out by the British Taekwon-Do Council; the sports regulatory body in the UK.

To qualify for the necessary indemnity insurance with the BTC, all instructors are subject to DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) screening.

The GTUK runs a series of child protection courses, and it is a pre-requisite for ALL instructors to regularly attend in a “top-up” capacity even after the first obligatory course.

These seminars cover health and safety issues as well as encouraging shared ideas and experiences throughout the membership. We also take the issue of teaching children responsibly very seriously indeed.
